Due to current ocean conditions and forecasts, we will be moving Meters for Mike to Sunday, Sept 8 with an 8am start time. Safety for all participants is always our top priority and this has come as a recommendation from Belmar Beach Patrol and Water Safety. Thankfully both weather and water conditions will be significantly improved by Sunday morning.
Important Reminders
1) Race Date: Sunday, Sept 8 @ 8am (earlier than the original Saturday race start time)
2) Race No. in your confirmation email from RaceForum, you were provided your race/bib number, please have that available when you arrive,
3) Check In: we will have a streamlined check in process this year, please pay attention to volunteers and race directors upon your arrival
As of right now, we have over 500 participants and we hope you all are still able to join us on Sunday. We have a no refund policy and apologize for any inconvenience, we are a non-profit with significant overhead for this race and all money not spent on the race goes directly to those impacted by traumatic brain injuries.

Meters for Mike team
1500 Meters for Mike is a one-mile open water swim which squarely rests on two pillars – advocating and raising money for those living with brain trauma and to remember our friend Michael Heaney who passed away in 2013 after a long struggle with his own traumatic brain injuries.
For the past twelve years “1500 Meters for Mike” has been the largest open water swim along the New Jersey shoreline. In past years, over 600 swimmers braved the mild surf and temperate waters to swim for a noble cause. We cordially invite you to take part this year!
