Pascack Valley Triathlon - Girls on The Run, Police Unity Tour, Helping Hand Food Pantry Donation Form

As the world has changed, the needs of girls and the pressures they face have intensified. Numerous reports have shown the decline in girls’ mental health and physical activity levels over the last decade. Girls on the Run helps to address these mental and physical health concerns. Now more than ever, girls need the skills to build their confidence, develop meaningful relationships, and discovery the joy of movement.

In 1997, Florham Park (NJ) Police Officer Patrick Montuore had a simple idea: organize a four-day bicycle ride from New Jersey to Washington, DC to raise public awareness about law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty, and to ensure that their sacrifice is never forgotten.

With that, the Police Unity Tour was formed.

What started with 18 riders on a four day fund-raising bicycle ride from Florham Park, NJ to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. has grown into 9 chapters consisting of nearly 2,600 members nationwide who make the trip annually.

The Helping Hand Food Pantry is a non-profit charitable organization granted 501(C)(3) status by the IRS.  It is entirely staffed by dedicated volunteers and relies on private donations, grocery stores, fundraisers, food drives and grants to serve those in need.  We currently serve approximately 400 neighbors every month, including senior citizens, the disabled, active military members, as well as veterans.  We are open on Monday evenings and the first Saturday morning of every month.  Donations are accepted during these times or non-perishable foods can be placed in the covered outdoor receptacles at any time.  The pantry serves community members from the towns of Emerson, Hillsdale, Oradell, Montvale, Rivervale, Washington Township, Westwood and Woodcliff Lake.
